Workshop for WSH Trainers: Casualty Transportation Technical Workshop
By the end of the course, learners will be able to perform competently with the relevant knowledge and application skills in Casualty Transportation.
1. Explain the definition of casualty transportation
2. Describe the aim of casualty transportation
3. List the 5 factors affecting Transportation (TIDAS)
4. List the 5 guidelines for lifting safety
5. Perform up to 10 casualty transportation methods
6. Describe the use of each of the casualty transport methods
Module 1: Principles of Casualty Transportation
Module 2: One-aider Casualty Transportation
Module 3: Multiple-aider Casualty Transportation
Module 4: Ambulance Orientation
Lecture - 1 Facilitator : 18 Learners
Practical - 1 Facilitator : 6 Learners (up to 3 Facilitators per class)
P1. Valid (not expired) Occupational First Aid or Standard First Aid or Child First Aid Provider Certification (NFAC/SRFAC-accredited).
P2. We highly recommend individuals to have attained at least secondary two education or level 5 of ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy.
P3. Must be physically fit and able to render help to another individual during an emergency.
P4. Medically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as knee, spinal or joints injury. Learners with medical problems, such as bronchial asthma, any upper respiratory tract infection, orthopedic problems (e.g. slipped disc), are encouraged to consult their own doctors before attending the course. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor first and produce a Letter/Memo to indicate if fit for training.
P5. Pregnant ladies are discouraged from undertaking the practice due to safety reasons. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor first and produce a Letter/Memo to indicate if fit for training. You are advised to defer taking the course to at least 6 weeks after delivery.
A1. There are no assessments for this course.
A2. This is a highly-participatory course, which involves a series of demonstrations and group activities. Learners are encouraged to participate in all the classroom activities in order to fully maximise the learning opportunities available.
C1. This course is accredited by Ministry of Manpower CPD/264/A1B/028 with 12 SDU Points Awarded.
C2. Learners would need to fulfill 75% course attendance in order to be eligible for the issue of an A4 certificate stating Certificate of Participation in Casualty Transportation Course.
